CIP is the world’s largest dedicated fund manager within greenfield renewable energy investments and a global leader in offshore wind. CIP’s CI Advance Bioenergy Fund I (CI ABF I) is a dark green fund focusing on investments in advanced bioenergy infrastructure in Europe and North America. Investments are based on sustainable feedstock such as waste wood, agricultural biowaste, and household and industrial biowaste. The offtake products include green gas and green fuels, such as biomethane. The CI ABF I reached first close with EUR 375 million in commitments in April 2022. The fund reached final close in October 2023 with commitments of EUR 750 million.

CIP in Ireland

In 2023, CIP acquired 50% of Statkraft A/S’s offshore wind portfolio in Ireland. The JV was awarded an ORESS 1 contract through North Irish Sea Array (NISA), a fixed-bottom offshore project among the first commercial scale offshore wind projects in Ireland. In 2024, CIP has acquired a majority stake in Irish solar developer Elgin Energy.
